Boise State Publication on Mobile Homes Wins Idaho Smart Growth Award

On November 12, 2008 Idaho Smart Growth presented researchers in the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs with a 2008 “Grow Smart” award for a comprehensive report on the status of mobile home parks in the Treasure Valley.

History Professor Todd Shallat, Public Policy and Administration Professor Susan Mason, and Social Work Professor Roy “Butch” Rodenheiser” authored “Mobile Home Living in Boise: Its Uncertain Future and Alarming Decline” at the suggestion of University President Dr. Bob Kustra after several mobile home park closures within Boise city limits.

Susan Emerson, College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs Network Administrator, was enrolled in the Master of Public Administration program at the time and assisted in the research.
