John Freemuth: Something must be done to track stimulus spending

Last week, Professor of Political Science John Freemuth told Channel 2 that the state of Idaho needed to do something to make the spending of federal stimulus dollars transparent for Idaho’s citizens:

“I don’t think any of us, so-called experts included, can get a handle on all of this,” Freemuth said. “It’s so complicated. It’s based a lot on trust, assumptions and wishful thinking, but something has to be done.”

The Governor’s office has set up a website http://accountability.idaho.gov so that all Idahoans can see where the state is spending federal stimulus money.
