SSPA Alum Georgia Meachem Voted Idaho REALTOR of the Year
Last week in Orlando, FL at the General Assembly meeting of the National Association of REALTORS®, the 9,000 members of the Idaho Association of REALTORS® selected Idaho Falls REALTOR® Georgia Meacham as Idaho REALTOR® of the Year. Georgia’s colleagues selected her for her professional leadership at the local, state, and national level, for her community involvement, and most of all for her REALTOR® spirit. Meacham is the first Idaho Falls woman to receive this prestigious award.
In addition, she was elected to the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors which governs a nationwide organization of over one million members. “It is a humbling honor and I look forward to the opportunity with enormous anticipation,” she says.
An Idaho native, Georgia was born in Emmett and graduated from Weiser High. She earned a degree in Communication from Boise State University before going on to Idaho State University where she earned her master’s degree in Public Health. She has been licensed to sell real estate since 1986 and holds numerous professional designations including: ABR, Accredited Buyer’s Agent; CRS, Certified Residential Specialist; GRI, Graduate Real Estate Institute; and, SRES, Senior Real Estate Specialist.
Her success is a simple recipe, she says. “Good REALTORS® know we are in the people business. Most of my customers and clients are repeat business. Technology is great but at the end of the day, especially during a shifting market, it is all about people.” Building a real estate practice is no simple matter, however, and Georgia credits her success to a good team - builders, lenders, title companies, graphic designers, home inspectors, home warranty companies, movers and computer gurus are just a few of the partners, she says, that it takes to keep business running smoothly.
The Idaho Association of REALTORS is the “Voice of Real Estate for Idaho”, Meacham said. “I am just fortunate enough to be a small part of a greater whole, advocating property rights and homeownership here in Idaho and across the nation.”
